Chipchase Stakes winner Maarek could go for more Group Three glory at Newbury on Saturday week, should the going be soft at the Berkshire track.

Trainer David Nagle has vowed to go wherever conditions are suitable after the five-year-old successfully graduated from handicaps to Pattern company with a gutsy success at Newcastle on Saturday.

Newbury's Shadwell Stakes, formerly known as the Hackwood Stakes, is the first possible target for Maarek, while Nagle will give his stable star an entry in the Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock in September.

"There's not a bother on him. He's eaten up and is in great form. It was a super day and we're still celebrating," said the County Tipperary handler.

"He'll be entered in a Group Three at Newbury the same day as the July Cup (at Newmarket).

"We'll put him in the big sprint at Haydock and he'll be entered in all the group races over six furlongs.

"Wherever the ground comes up soft we'll go.

"He's very tough, genuine and consistent."
