Humble Brag well backed and still holding every chance when unseating his rider at the last in Wexford last month, gained compensation when taking division two of the Farm And Industrial Spares Mallow Handicap Hurdle at Cork.

The Donie Hassett-trained gelding had just struck the front when pecking badly on landing two out but put in a fine leap at the last to settle the issue.

The 100/30 joint favourite kept on well on the run-in under JJ Slevin to beat fellow market leader Coded Welder by three and a quarter lengths with Way Down South a further eight and a half lengths back in third.

Hassett’s son and assistant Brian said, “It was unfortunate that Phillip (Enright) got unseated at the final flight the last day when we had a few quid on, but we got it back with some more today, so it wasn't too bad.

"He is still a bit babyish, green and is a nervy horse who is still learning on the job. We'll have a look what's there for him next, but Galway is on the radar.

"His owner Dom Murphy's father owned Rust Never Sleeps (dual Irish National runner-up) with us in the past and had Irish Lincoln winner That's Logic too.

“We had good success and the colours are back again which is great. Dom is a great owner, is very patient and a great fella."
