Niche Market, a leading fancy for the John Smith's Grand National, will miss the race.

A general 20-1 chance for the Aintree showpiece, Paul Nicholls charge finished an encouraging second to Marufo at Newbury at the weekend.

However the champion trainer tweeted on Wednesday morning: "More bad news to report I'm afraid. Niche Market who ran a great race last week misses the National."
