Nicholls outlines plans for stable stars

Champion trainer Paul Nicholls is pleased with his big names as the National Hunt season prepares to go up a gear.

Denman could return to action in the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury in November, a race he won in 2006.

"We are very happy with him, he's cantering now and looks good. He seems right back to his very best," Nicholls told At The Races.

"He'll be given an entry in the Hennessy and the Betfair Chase but we don't have concrete plans for any of them."

Cheltenham Gold Cup hero Kauto Star's season is again set to start in the jnwine.com Champion Chase at Down Royal in November.

"He could be aimed towards that but nothing is set in stone but it is an ideal stepping stone for the season," Nicholls admitted.

One horse who is set to have his programme tweaked is champion chaser Master Minded.

"He is very well and there's a race at Cheltenham for him at the Paddy Power meeting in November and then onto the Tingle Creek," the trainer added.
