Nicholls thrilled with Kauto Stone Paul Nicholls has ruled Kauto Stone out of next Saturday's Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham following his winning debut for the yard at Down Royal. The five-year-old joined his half-brother Kauto Star at Ditcheat for the start of this season having won at Grade One level in his native France. He produced a fine round of jumping to land the Ladbrokes.com Chase in Down Royal and while the champion trainer has not made any definite future plans, he has revealed he will not be heading to Prestbury Park. "We were thrilled with him. It was a good performance and he's come out of the race fine," said Nicholls. "I haven't made any plans for him yet. I'll have to have a chat with the owner and see which way we're going to go, but he won't run in the Paddy Power."
