Nikki Swango will be heading to the All-Weather Finals Day at Newcastle on Good Friday after finishing second on Trials Day at the same venue yesterday afternoon.

The daughter of Galileo Gold has improved rapidly since joining Ado McGuinness winning four times at Dundalk since the end of October.

The five-year-old mare has also filled the runner-up spot on her other three starts in that period including when unlucky in running behind well-backed favourite Stateira in the BetMGM AWC Fillies & Mares Trial Fillies Handicap at Newcastle yesterday.

McGuinness sent out a double at Dundalk yesterday evening with Clonmacash and Jawhary and his son and assistant Tadhg gave an update on Nikki Swango saying, “She just didn't get a clear, clear run at all. Probably beaten by a better horse on the day, but definitely a lot to look forward to.

"Hopefully, we will be going back there for the finals. She is qualified and that is definitely the aim with her.

"She is still on the improve, and has gone up 30-odd pound."
