No hurry for Kazeem plan Roger Charlton is in no rush to make future plans for Al Kazeem as he continues to recover from injury. The seven-year-old struck three times at Group One level in 2013, winning the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh, the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown in the space of two months. He was retired to stud at the end of that season, but was brought back last year after proving sub-fertile and has seemingly lost none of his talent judged on his second Tattersalls Gold Cup triumph last month. The admirable veteran was ruled out of a return to the Royal meeting after suffering a setback and Charlton is wondering what might have been after The Grey Gatsby and Postponed, both behind Al Kazeem in Ireland, were placed in Wednesday's feature event. "He's got a problem with a sesamoid. These things can take time," said the trainer. "He's sound and he's walking and he'll start trotting in three weeks' time. He'll have a scan and a rescan and we'll start cantering when they say we start cantering, or not if we don't. "It was great to end up winning at the Curragh and if you look at the Prince of Wales, there's every reason to think he'd have been in the first two or three, because that was his form. "I'm lucky to have had him."
