No immediate plans for George Washington's daughter Richard Hannon was left feeling relieved after Date With Destiny made a winning debut at Newbury on Friday evening. As the only offspring of the ill-fated George Washington the pressure was on the juvenile to make a winning debut. Hannon and owner Julie Wood have been patient with the filly though and that paid off as she came home to win cosily by a length and a half. "There was a lot of pressure on us, not from Julie, who has been a star, but with such a high-profile filly you dust want to mess things up," said Hannon on www.richardhannonracing.tv. "She was naturally a bit green but could not have done the job better and we can now build on this and look to move up the ladder."
