No Nay returns in triumph The Breeders' Cup Sprint beckons for No Nay Never after he made a seamless return to action at Keeneland on Saturday. Despite having been off the track since March, last season's Norfolk Stakes and Prix Morny winner struck by half a length in a Grade Three over an extended five furlongs. He is now poised to set sail for even greater riches at Santa Anita next month. Trainer Wesley Ward said: "This turf course here is just so kind and forgiving. He's a big, blocky, extremely fast horse. "I thought this would be a great spot to bring him back and springboard him back into what we're going to do. "He's equally as good on the dirt. I just wanted to bring him back into this, see how he comes back, and more likely than not go to the Breeders' Cup Sprint." Two-times American Horse of the Year Wise Dan was also in winning form on the card when he overcame a tardy start to take the Grade One Shadwell Turf Mile by a length from Grand Arch. Charlie LoPresti's seven-year-old has earned an automatic spot into the Breeders' Cup Mile - a race he has won for the last two years - though connections have not entirely ruled out a tilt at the Breeders' Cup Classic on dirt. LoPresti said: "I'll leave it (a decision on his next race) up to Mr (Mort) Fink (breeder-owner). "The way he trained on the dirt here, the way he ran, this is the kind of race I wanted for him. "I'll just leave it up to the boss (Fink), but I wouldn't be afraid to run him anywhere - as long as he comes back good. "You know he's seven years old - how many races does he have left? "He's trained so well over the dirt this year at Saratoga and here I think if we're ever going to try it (run in the Classic), this would be the year. "You just don't know how many (races) he has in him, a horse of this age. "And whether he'll get a mile and a quarter, I don't know. "I guess the only way to find out is to try." Wise Dan was ridden by John Velazquez, who claimed further Grade One honours aboard Dayatthespa in the First Lady and with Carpe Diem in the Claiborne Breeders' Futurity. And just for good measure, Velazquez secured two more Keeneland winners on a red-letter day for the high-class rider.
