No decision has been made yet on future plans for Un De Sceaux after his gallant second-placed effort at Ascot yesterday.

The 12-year-old was attempting to record a fourth straight victory in the Clarence House Chase but had to settle for second behind the impressive winner Defi Du Seuil.

Colm O’Connell, son of owner Edward O’Connell, had said after yesterday's race that a win may have prompted connections to retire the gelding.

When the possibility of retirement was put to trainer Willie Mullins today he joked:- "Are we limited to one run now?

"Un De Sceaux is fine and arrived home this morning.

"We haven't spoken yet about him."
