No problems for Do It as O'Brien doubles up

Go Just Do It justified his short price when running out a cosy winner of the Gowran Park Golf Club Maiden, giving Joseph O’Brien a quick double on the card.

The 98-rated son of Kingman had been third in the Group 2 Futurity Stakes last season and went to post a 8/13 shot on his return to action.

Joey Sheridan tracked the front-running In The Gloaming in the seven furlong contest before sending his mount to the front shortly after the two furlong marker.

He just had to go through the motions from there on as the hotpot went on to record a four-length success without engaging top gear. Newcomer Solana Beach won the battle for second.

"I know he was a short-priced favourite but I thought he was very impressive. I thought he was as impressive a maiden winner as you'd see,” said O’Brien.

"We thought very highly of him last year so placed him very aggressively and we were disappointed he was beaten on his last run (in October) but I'd say it will work out that he was beaten by a good horse (Trojan Warrior).

"He had been to the Curragh on his three runs last year so this is a different track and different test for him. My gut feeling is to stick to seven furlongs but we'll see how he pulls up.

"I'll discuss with Michael and John (Burke) but I'm thinking of staying at seven furlongs, rather than going a mile and he could be a Jersey Stakes-type of horse."
