Britain faces a blank day`s racing tomorrow after Newbury was abandoned today.

The meetings at Carlisle, Southwell and Stratford on Friday have also fallen victim to the weather this morning.

Newbury spokesman Richard Osgood said: 'We have abandoned due to snow and frost.

'Temperatures have not risen today, we still have a lot of snow on the course and the forecast is for it to remain cold tonight.'
