Comeback kid Pique Sous is likely to be sent to England next month to contest the John Smith's Northumberland Plate at Newcastle.

Willie Mullins' grey has happily made a full recovery from a life-threatening bout of colic and returned to action at the Curragh on Guineas weekend.

The Grade Two-winning hurdler was a pleasing fifth in a mile-and-a-half handicap and could next step back up in trip for one of the most keenly contested big handicaps of the English Flat season.

His owners, Supreme Horse Racing Club, tweeted: "Pique Sous will have an entry for the Northumberland Plate @NewcastleRaces on June 28."
