Noseda Outlines Icon Plans

Sixties Icon is likely to reappear in Newbury's Dubai Tennis Championship Stakes next month en route to the Vodafone Coronation Cup.

Last year's St Leger winner had been a possible for next week's Dubai Sheema Classic but will now miss the Group One at Nad Al Sheba.

Sixties Icon could instead start his four-year-old campaign in the Group Three contest ? commonly known as the John Porter Stakes ? at the Berkshire track on April 21.

Trainer Jeremy Noseda said: 'Sixties Icon is a non-runner in the Sheema Classic.

'After consultation with his owners (Paul and Susan Roy) we just felt that putting him through a hard preparation at this stage of the season would not be ideal.

'We have decided that his first main objective of the year will be the Coronation Cup (at Epsom on June 1).

'All being well, we are hoping to start him off in the John Porter at Newbury.

'The plan would then be to head on either to the Jockey Club Cup at Newmarket or the Ormonde Stakes at Chester,' the Newmarket trainer told www.jeremynoseda.com.
