The Nunthorpe Stakes takes place at 3:35 at York over five furlongs on Friday and looks an open race in which the weather is definitely going to play a factor.

Australian mare Asfoora returns to defend her title, while Royal Ascot winner and American contender Bacio heads the market.

On the latest episode of the Irish Edge, Johnny Ward and former bookmaker Stephen Harris, preview Friday’s feature and Harris picks out a 20-1 shot.

I think, from a pricing point of view, Time For Sandals is far too big.

Harry Eustace is a trainer I really like - he's 4 from 14 in the last fortnight. Time For Sandals has spent the whole season struggling, not really running well, but last time at Goodwood ran a lot better in the same race that American Affair won, with Asfoora in there as well.

Time for Sandals finished really strongly, probably on the wrong side of the track as things panned out. With a bit of cut in the ground, at 20-1 she'd be my selection, probably each way, with extra places if you can find them.

I was going to side with the American horse Bacio but the ground has put me against him. I’m with Asfoora who won the race last year, beating a weaker field.

It wasn't a strong renewal last year; Arizona Blaze was sent off favourite, but it was very open.

Ultimately, the key here is that she goes with no problem at all in this ground, and she gets on very well with Oisin Murphy.

Obviously her run behind American Affair last time at Goodwood was very solid.
