O'Brien and Browne McMonagle complete Down doubles Jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle and trainer Joseph O’Brien combined for Down Royal doubles today, as well-backed Angelo Pio (2/1f) landed the concluding BoyleSports Best Odds Guaranteed Maiden. The pair were earlier successful with Goodie Two Shoes in the featured Listed His Majesty’s Plate, with Angelo Pio travelling well through the finale, and eventually comfortably beat runner-up Alab Chiara. Today’s race was confined to horses rated 70 or less and afterwards Browne McMonagle stated “it was a straightforward run, I was drawn a little wide but had to go forward and get into some sort of position. “He got into a good rhythm but I was caught a little wider than ideal, although we travelled around good and I just kept it simple on him. He quickened up good and won well. "I had David (Egan on Nakatomi) on my inside and he was able to take me down into the straight. Once I got him organised he quickened up good and he's a progressive horse. "He’s still learning on the job so hopefully he can keep improving will probably go back into handicap company now.” Quotes from Michael Graham
