O'Brien appeal to be heard tomorrow Joseph O'Brien's appeal against a two-day suspension for using his whip with excessive frequency aboard Mr. Pianist on 19th November will be heard by the Turf Club at 4pm tomorrow afternoon. O'Brien is involved in a three-way tussle for the Apprentice Title and the outcome of the appeal will certainly have a bearing on this. An extra meeting has been added at Dundalk this Saturday and the results of these races will count in the Championship battle. Current standing see O'Brien trail both Gary Carroll and Ben Curtis by two wins. Another appeal due to be heard tomorrow is by the amateur rider Patrick Mullins against the severity of a six-day he picked up at Naas for his use of the whip aboard Ceol Rua at Naas on 24th November.
