O'Brien Eyes Black-Type Success with Alwaysanangel at Newmarket Joseph O’Brien is hoping Alwaysanangel can bag some black-type in the Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes at Newmarket on Friday. The Harry Angel filly made an impressive debut at Fairyhouse last week and takes a big step up in class now in the Group 2 contest. Albany Stakes winner Libertango and Queen Mary runner-up Senorita Bonita are among the main contenders in the six-furlong event. Speaking at Fairyhouse yesterday O’Brien said:- “She’s a nice filly. She had a good debut here. “It’s a big step up in class but it would be nice to get some black-type. “I thought she was very impressive here but the two best fillies in England are turning up for the race so we’ll see how she gets on.” The O'Brien team have enjoyed a successful few days with a treble in Naas on Saturday and a double in Fairyhouse yesterday.
