O'Brien has strong hand with Champion five Rip Van Winkle and Fame And Glory top Aidan O'Brien's five possibles for the Tattersalls Millions Champion Stakes at Leopardstown on Saturday. The two Group One winners, along with Irish Derby hero Cape Blanco, Beethoven and Black Quartz give O'Brien a powerful hand as the Ballydoyle trainer seeks a sixth success in the mile-and-a-quarter feature. Owner Khalid Abdullah has two classy entries in the Dermot Weld-trained Famous Name and Twice Over from Henry Cecil's stable. Middleham-based handler Mark Johnston has supplemented Sea Lord, who completed a four-timer when recently adding the Group Three Sovereign Stakes at Salisbury to three handicap wins. Godolphin's Cavalryman and Poet, trained by Clive Cox, make up the 10 five-day acceptors. Poet took the Group Three Kilternan Stakes on this card last September when with O'Brien, but Cox is praying for rain. "We have left him in at the moment but we are going to need more rain," said the Lambourn handler. "Rain is forecast for Saturday but the rest of the week looks dry so we will just have to wait and see. "He is very well entered and we will be looking towards Goodwood later in the year. "If he doesn't run at the weekend, there is the possibility of a Group Two at Longchamp. "We were thrilled with his success at Haydock (last time), it was just excellent and he is in good form. He is a very high class horse and the ground just came perfect for him that day. "We are just trying to hang in there with the weather and we hope that it comes good."
