O'Brien holds strong hand in quest for sixth Curragh Cup Aidan O’Brien has three of the seven runners as he bids to win the Comer Group International Curragh Cup for a sixth time at the Co Kildare course on Sunday. Leading his team is Giuseppe Garibaldi, who was third to Irish Derby fancy Old Persian in the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot last week. Flag Of Honour, who was unplaced in the French Derby, and Cork maiden winner Victory Salute make up the Ballydoyle handler’s trio. His son Joseph, successful with subsequent Melbourne Cup hero Rekindling 12 months ago, looks to Drapers Guild, who was sixth in the Queen’s’ Vase at the Royal meeting. Another horse making a quick reappearance is Queen Alexandra Stakes victor Pallasator for the Gordon Elliott stable. Jim Bolger’s Twilight Payment and the Willie McCreery-trained Bloomfield complete the septet.
