In-form trainer Joseph O'Brien is hoping that stepping up in trip will see Emit record a second career win when he contests the Listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Marble City Stakes at Gowran Park on Saturday.

A maiden winner at Tipperary as a two-year-old last season, the Too Darn Hot colt was just touched off on his reappearance at Cork in April.

Hampered a furlong out before later being promoted to second in a Group 3 at the Curragh subsequently, the colt proved disappointing when well beaten at Royal Ascot last month.

O'Brien said: “He’s up in trip from Ascot and we think that will suit him, we’re hopeful he’ll get the distance. We’re looking forward to seeing him.

“All of his runs are good except Ascot which was a big ask on fast ground and the fast pace. It just happened a bit quick for him.”
