O'Brien hoping to see more from Laburnum Aidan O’Brien will attempt to match Sir Michael Stoute’s record of six wins in the Juddmonte Irish Oaks when he saddles four in Saturday’s renewal at the Curragh. Ennistymon, who was runner-up to Love in the Epsom Oaks, spearheads his challenge, and O’Brien spoke to Denis Kirwan about a couple of his principal challengers for the big race beginning with her. "I'm very happy with her. She seems to be well since her last run in Epsom," he said. "Wayne (Lordan) rides her, Mrs Stockwell owns her. We are looking forward to her running - she ran a great race in Epsom with Seamus (Heffernan)." On Laburnum, who was beaten a neck by Even So in a Listed Oaks Trial at Naas, he said: "We were delighted with her that day, she was a baby really going into that race and she had only won a maiden. "When she won her maiden she didn't know much, so we felt that she had to run again to learn and she ran and that day. Wayne rode her and he was delighted but he felt that she was going to learn a lot from that race. "She seems to be in good form and is stepping up to a mile and a half. It will be very interesting to see what happens with her, but there is every chance she is going to move up plenty. "We are looking forward to seeing her run as well. Declan (McDonogh) rides her. She is a very straightforward filly." O'Brien also saddles Munster Oaks winner Snow and Passion, who was fifth in the Oaks at Epsom.
