O'Brien runs three in King George

Aidan O'Brien will be three-handed in the Betfair-sponsored King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot on Saturday after Golden Sword, Frozen Fire and Rockhampton were among the nine declared this morning.

Johnny Murtagh takes the mount on Golden Sword, with Seamie Heffernan partnering Frozen Fire and Colm O'Donoghue on likely pacemaker Rockhampton.

Cima De Triomphe and Freemantle are the only two defectors at the 48-hour stage, while as expected Ryan Moore rides favourite Conduit in preference to stablemate Tartan Bearer - the mount of Mick Kinane. Olivier Peslier is aboard Sir Michael Stoute's other runner, Coronation Cup winner Ask.

Three-year-old Alwaary takes his chance under Richard Hills, with Look Here and Scintillo completing the field.

Murtagh who is to partner Golden Sword said, "I am really looking forward to riding Golden Sword on Saturday. He's a horse that hasn't stopped improving all year. It'll be interesting to see how he shapes up against the older horses."
