O'Brien sets his sights on feature in Musselburgh Joseph O’Brien has taken aim at Musselburgh’s Listed Stobo Castle Ladies’ Day Gold Cup Fillies’ Stakes on Saturday with three entries. Registered as the Maggie Dickson Stakes, the race has attracted 19 possibles, including last year’s Qipco 1000 Guineas winner Billesdon Brook from Richard Hannon’s yard. However, it is O’Brien who holds the strongest hand numerically with Cava, Rainbow Moonstone and Wisdom Maid entered by the Owning Hill handler. Cava won on her debut last season and has been highly tried in three runs since winning her maiden at Naas, just coming up short in the search for black type to date. Wisdom Maid was not disgraced in a decent even last time out having begun her career with Criquette Head-Maarek. As well as Billesdon Brook the home team is pretty strong, with Redcar Two Year Old Trophy winner Summer Daydream in line to make her first appearance of the year for Keith Dalgleish. Indian Blessing was consistent last year for Ed Walker, who has also engaged Sunday Star, William Haggas has entered Ice Gala while Heavenly Holly could run for Hugo Palmer.
