O'Callaghan aiming for stakes success with Navassa Michael O'Callaghan is hoping Navassa Island can make the breakthrough at stakes level this year after three placed efforts last season. The Territories filly was only beaten a neck by Porta Fortuna on her debut in Group 3 company at Naas last May. She went on to open her account in a Curragh maiden in August before posting two placed efforts in black-type company in Britain to end her campaign. Navassa Island holds an entry in the Irish 1,000 Guineas in late May and O'Callaghan said at Dundalk on Tuesday:- "She's tipping away. "She's pencilled in for the seven furlong (Guineas) Trial at Leopardstown but we'll see, it might come a little bit early for her. "We'll try and get her to win a stakes race this year if we can."
