Brian O'Connell is to see a specialist to assess the damage to his right shoulder following a fall at Limerick on Sunday.

The jump jockey was hurt when taking a tumble from Dramatic Event at the second-last flight in the Irishinjuredjockeys.com Handicap Hurdle.

He was taken to Limerick University Hospital for X-rays, but allowed home afterwards.

"I've spoken to Brian and I'm trying to him an urgent appointment with sports injury specialist Hannan Mullett," said the Turf Club's senior medical officer, Dr Adrian McGoldrick.

"Brian's at home and I hope to get him an appointment at the sports clinic in the next couple of days."
