O'Connor rides out 10lb claim on Solomon Solomon added to a win at Haydock last year for William Haggas when taking the Wallstone Grant Thornton Optional Claiming Race at Limerick. The Siyouni gelding made headway early in the straight to lead over a furlong out and soon asserted under Dylan O’Connor to score by a comfortable two lengths. Gracesolution kept on into second with Lohengrin taking third spot. Trainer Denis Hogan said of the 6/1 winner, “He was top-rated but at the same time hadn't been doing it in handicaps. “Those races are lovely for the likes of him and while I'm not sure if there'll be claims in for him or not, we'll replace him with another if he is claimed. I got Tony and Mike (O'Brien) to buy him so I'm happy he has won a race for them. “I'm delighted for Dylan who has lost his 10lb claim now, which will help him do lighter weights." The winner was later claimed for €15,000 to be trained by Paul Sweeney. Ned Buckley claimed both Migdam and Highland King for €12,000 and €5,000 respectively, while Lohengrin joins Eamon Delany for €7,000. Quotes by Tom Weekes
