O'Donoghue to get advice from Murtagh

Colm O'Donoghue will consult Johnny Murtagh for advice before taking the ride on Cape Blanco.

O'Donoghue is delighted to have the plum ride on the Irish Derby hero in the midsummer showpiece, sponsored by Betfair.

He has been given the chance as Murtagh, Aidan O'Brien's stable jockey, is suspended.

"It's great to get a ride like Cape Blanco in the King George and I'm really looking forward to it,'' he said.

"It's exciting and it's great to be part of it. I've ridden in a lot of big races and I've ridden in the King George before, but probably not as high profile a ride.

"Cape Blanco is very uncomplicated. I can ride him anywhere I want. I'll just have to ride the race as it unfolds in front of me.

"He showed how good he was in the Irish Derby. It was a very good performance.

"I'm sure I'll go through the race in detail with Johnny. He'll tell me how he thinks the race might pan out or he might give me some ideas and we will work it out from there.''
