O'Keeffe and De Bromhead combine for Listowel doubles Jockey Darragh O’Keeffe and trainer Henry De Bromhead combined for Listowel doubles today, completing the feat with well-related Rockonliam’s (9/2) success in the Insurance Wise Handicap Hurdle. Previously successful in a Killarney maiden hurdle last May, the six-year-old was having his first start in 153 days today and having raced behind the leaders, eventually scored by 2.75 lengths from Garnacho . The Cheeky Pups Syndicate-owned Rockonliam is a brother to Scottish Grand National-winner Captain Cody and De Bromhead’s assistant Robbie Power reported “he is a fine big horse and ran well at Leopardstown during Christmas. He has had a break since and it was his first run back but we were hoping that if he ran to that Leopardstown form that he would go close. “Darragh gave him a lovely ride, he settled after a couple of furlongs and got into a nice rhythm. When he came there he had a look around, but it was a good performance. “He could progress into nice chaser some time but first we’ll see where we end up over hurdles and will see what the handicapper does now.”
