Old Hall keeps Wexford chase

The Appeals Body today turned down an appeal by connections of Hatton's Wood, in favour of promoted-on-the-day winner Old Hall, in a handicap chase at Wexford on July 23.

Old Hall (under Barry Geraghty) passed the post a short head behind Hatton’s Wood (Andrew Thornton) but the Wexford Stewards promoted the Willie Codd trained Old Hall to first, having suffered interference on the run-in.

Connections of Hatton’s Wood were today unsuccessful in their appeal to reinstate the original first-past-the-post, at a sitting of the Appeals Body.
