O'Leary off the mark again with Silent Silent Selector stuck on gamely in front in the closing stages to spring a 22/1 shock in the second division of the 0-100 handicap hurdle at Limerick. Sean Flanagan had the Gerard O’Leary-trained gelding to the fore for most of the race and he led away from the fourth last. Big Debates looked a big danger turning for home in the two-mile-three contest but couldn’t find a way past Silent Selector, who was slick over the last before posting a three-parts-of-a-length win. It was a first success for the Order Of St George gelding and also for O’Leary. The Youghal handler had saddled Empire Succes to win at Wexford last October only for that horse to lose the race subsequently due to a prohibited substance found in a blood sample:- O'Leary said:- "I rang Harley Dunne looking for a fun horse for a few lads and he recommended this horse, after running in two point to points. "The Lads & Eoin Syndicate (owners) was huge at one time but has dwindled down and there are just three of us stuck in him now. "Myself, Liam O'Keeffe - who led him up, and Vince O'Driscoll, who is very good to me, are the only ones involved. Eoin is gone but might be back again now!" He added:- "I thought he'd run better the last day so that was a bit of a surprise although his work had been very good. He'll go for something similar next.  "I have him for the summer and Empire Succes, who will be back out soon." (Quotes by Tom Weekes)
