Oliver hoping for better Derby run from Glory Daze Trainer Andy Oliver intends running his stable star Glory Daze in the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby on Saturday, having finished down the field in the Epsom equivalent. The son of Cotai Glory finished second in the Group 3 Derby Trial Stakes at Leopardstown last month and while he finished just 14th of 17 runners in the Epsom Derby, Oliver is hoping for a better run this weekend. The Tyrone based trainer said "he is likely to take his chance. He's a big horse and we ran him at Epsom and the whole thing just didn't work out. He ran flat. "It's a hard one to call - we put him in at second stage so we felt as if we should stay in. We have just nursed him along, we've tried to keep freshening him up. "He worked this morning, his first bit, and he did that well. We don't really know where we are because the usual momentum and build up to the race has been broken but, as far as we know, everything is in good form. "We'll stay in and we'll see how we get on."
