Joseph O'Brien sent out the first two home in the three-year-old maiden over ten-and-a-half furlongs at Dundalk and it was Porter (4/1) who got the better of his better-fancied stablemate Arietty (11/8 favourite) by half a length.

Unplaced over a mile on last month's debut, the 135,000 euro Orby Sales purchase was much more streetwise on this occasion under Declan McDonogh.

Soon second, he was sent to the front two furlongs out and held on well from the market leader who did finish to good effect under Joey Sheridan.

McDonogh, in the colours of Al Shaqab Racing, said "Happy with him, I had a lovely set-up and got in behind one just to let him relax.

"Pace was honest for what they were and he dropped his head nicely.

"He can go a little bit left, but he was good today. Straight and true to the line, I thought he toughed it out well.

"Joseph said just to be ready for him as he could go left. He did a little bit, but then he came the other way. Green, Too Darn Hot (progeny of) just maybe taken a bit of time as they can be a little bit hot, but he was solid at the line. I thought I pulled out plenty."
