Trainer John Queally is looking forward to getting his stable star Djingle out on some spring like ground, after he was well beaten in Grade One company on his latest start.

On yielding, good to yielding in places terrain, Djingle was impressive at Listowel in September, before following up on a heavy surface in the Grade Three Ballymore Irish EBF Novice Chase at Roscommon twenty days later.

The McNeill family-owned seven-year-old appeared to be held when falling at the last at Carlisle in November in advance of the aforementioned last of the four finishers effort in the Grade One Racing Post Novice Chase at Leopardstown on St Stephen’s Day.

Queally is now mulling over options at home and abroad. The Waterford trainer said: “He could either go back to Leopardstown (for the Dublin Racing Festival) or go to Musselburgh (Cheltenham Trials meeting) the same weekend. We have a choice of going for one or the other.

“He’s come out of his race at Christmas in good form. He’d like a bit of nicer ground so we’ll look at Musselburgh.

“He’s still learning and is starting to settle a bit.”
