Options Open For Lane

Connections of Cloudy Lane are mulling over options for the seven-year-old following his victory at Cheltenham last week.

The Trevor Hemmings-owned gelding gave first-season trainer Donald McCain junior his maiden Festival winner with his first runner when landing the Kim Muir Challenge Cup Handicap Chase.

'Cloudy Lane cantered his morning and he's in really good form,' said McCain.

'Were not quite sure where he will go next. Obviously there will be one or two entries made for him and there's a few big targets to look at.

'We will just play it by ear, sit down, have a talk and see how soon we can run him again.

'There's no such thing as an easy race at Cheltenham, but he certainly wasn't bottomed by it. Everything went very smoothly and he did it very well.

'He's a grand horse and he's been an absolute star from day one.'
