Paul Deegan is weighing up the options for his smart mare Midnight Soprano following her decent effort in the Lancashire Oaks on unsuitable ground.

The Curragh trainer is looking at races such as the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Give Thanks Stakes at Cork on August 6 or the Irish St Leger Trial Stakes at his local track on August 24 for the six-year-old, as long as conditions are favourable.

Deegan was delighted with her latest run in the Group Two at Haydock where she was a respectable sixth to Emirates Queen.

"She's in tip-top form. The ground at Haydock was just too lively for her, but she wasn't beaten far," said Deegan.

"She's in very good form so it's onwards and upwards hopefully with her.

"There's the Give Thanks Stakes at Cork or maybe the Leger Trial at the Curragh. We've got a few options for her."
