Options open for Stars Connections of Across The Stars will let the dust settle on his luckless run at Lingfield on Saturday before deciding on a potential bid for Investec Derby glory at Epsom. The Sir Michael Stoute-trained colt bolted up in an all-weather maiden at the Surrey circuit in early April and it appeared significant he was stepped up markedly in grade for the Lingfield Derby Trial. He was far from disgraced in finishing a close third and Bruce Raymond, racing manager for Saeed Suhail, feels he would have come out on top but for suffering interference in the closing stages. Raymond said: "I thought he was unlucky. There was no pace on, which certainly didn't help him, and I felt he would have won. "They quickened away from him slightly, but he was staying on again at the finish and looked the sure winner, but that happens sometimes. "He's come out of it all right, so we'll see where we go from here. "He's in the Derby, the Irish Derby and the King Edward and I don't know which way Sir Michael wants to go. That's for him to know and you and I to guess!"
