Orientor snatches trophy

Orientor gave Jim Goldie his most valuable success as a trainer when lifting the Stg£60,000 William Hill Trophy at York this afternoon.

The 10-1 shot, ridden by Kieren Fallon beat Armagnac (16-1) by a short-head in a driving finish with four lengths back to the well-backed 5-1 joint-favourite Polar Kingdom, who had little luck in running.

Up Tempo (20-1) finished back in fourth of the 20 runners.

Glasgow-based Goldie was understandably delighted with the result and revealed that his charge could make a quick return to action in next Thursday`s Cork And Orrery Stakes at Royal Ascot.
