O'Sullivan on weather watch ahead of Chally's Cesarewitch bid Trainer Ross O'Sullivan is on weather watch for last year’s Loughbrown Stakes-winner Chally Chute, who bids to go one placing better in the upcoming Irish Cesarewitch on September 26, following a runner-up effort last year. The eight-year-old scored twice for O’Sullivan last year in both the Listed Lenabane Stakes at Roscommon and the Group 3 Loughbrown Stakes at the Curragh last November. In between those wins, Chally Chute had finished second in the Friends Of The Curragh Irish Cesarewitch, where he finished behind Puturhandstogether but nonetheless collected €120,000 in prizemoney. O’Sullivan is again keen to have another attempt at the Cesarewitch but cautioned “It is very much ground dependent as he will have to get rain to run, but he's as well as ever and I couldn't be happier with him. He got curtailed in that mid-summertime and there's nothing you can do. If there had been a chance of a wet summer, we were ready for it. "Along with the Cesarewitch, there's the Loughbrown which he won last year and the Royal-Oak in Saint-Cloud. It will be one of those, depending on where we get the slowest ground. "I'd have no qualms about him running off top-weight in the Cesarewitch, he's a classy horse if he gets his ground ,but the ground is the key. "The horse himself has loads of enthusiasm and loads of life about him. It is great to have him, and he goes around like a two-year-old. My travelling head girl rides him every day and she said he is mad well. He's in a very happy routine and just the same routine as last year. Hopefully, we get the rain." Quotes from Michael Graham
