Oxx looking forward to Battle John Oxx is looking forward to running Call To Battle over a mile-and-a-half in today's MBNA Chester Vase. The King's Best colt was a fine second in the Ballysax Stakes at Leopardstown on his return to action this year. He had looked a promising middle distance prospect last year with two successes which included a listed success at the Dublin track. "He's got some good form and showed some progressive form as a two-year-old," said Oxx. "He ran a nice race in the Ballysax on his comeback and we are anxious to step him up to a mile and a half which is why he is going over rather than run in the Derrinstown on Sunday. "He looks fairly versatile in terms of the ground. Obviously he will have to be as it looks testing enough, but we think he likes the soft. "You've got some promising types in the race. David Livingston is a good performer with form on soft ground so it will be an interesting test for him."
