Paddy Flood to return to Ireland National Hunt rider Paddy Flood has announced that after four years in Australia he will now return to Ireland. The Curragh native told Australian website www.racing.com that a combination of visa restrictions and the imminent birth of his first child have prompted the move. “My wife has gone back already, she had to go back because she couldn’t fly any later - she’s pregnant, she’s due in September,” Flood said. “We’re not residents and our visas run out in December so it’s just happened like that. “We just made the decision to head back.” The 30-year-old has no immediate plans to return to race riding when he gets back home.
