Paddy Twomey's Flat team for 2025 Since taking out a full training license in 2016, Paddy Twomey has established himself as one of the top trainers in Ireland and he's set for another big summer ahead. He's already tasted Graded-race success at Aintree this spring, but his main focus will be on the Flat and we're taking a look at some of the horses that may shine for the Golden, Co Tipperary handler in the months ahead. Currawood Currawood is a three-year-old of some substance for the Twomey yard. The Acclamation colt ran well in three runs last year without getting a win but soon left that behind when taking a maiden at Dundalk over 7f on his comeback in March. He added another score at Cork (1m, soft) in April in a decent contest and has since finished second-best in the Listed Tetrarch Stakes at the Curragh (1m, good) at the start of May behind Aidan O'Brien's Officer. Currawood should have more to come and he holds Group 1 entries at the Curragh and Royal Ascot. One Look April was a very good month for Twomey's operation and it included One Look's win in the Group 3 Express Stakes at the Curragh over a mile. In the hands of Twomey's regular riding ally Billy Lee, One Look was strong in the finish to defy O'Brien's Ecstatic and the Ger Lyons-trained Naomi Lapaglia. The Gleneagles filly has no fancy entries at this stage, but she has four wins from eight starts and that Curragh success was her first on decent ground, providing another string to her bow. Catalina Delcarpio Unraced at two, the filly Catalina Delcarpio made a sparkling start to her career when travelling strongly and winning a maiden at Leopardstown (1m2f, good) in early April, beating off rivals from some of Ireland's top yards. No time was wasted rising in class, with the Group 3 Salsabil Stakes at Navan her target before April had ended. She was denied by one there, the Joseph O'Brien-trained Wemighttakedlongway, but it was a progressive run and the filly holds an Irish Oaks entry for the Curragh in July. Bubble Gum French import Bubble Gum made the ideal start for Twomey as she won the Listed Noblesse Stakes at Cork (1m4f, good) at the start of April, completing a really satisfying weekend after Seo Linn's Aintree win. Billy Lee's partner had a decent reputation and went off 7/4 favourite for the €30,000 prize and she never looked in much danger before coming home a length-and-a-half clear of her rivals. She's very much unexposed at the trip but could drop down in distance, with an entry for the Group 2 Middleton Fillies' Stakes at York's Dante Festival still attached. Seo Linn Seo Linn was the horse that provided Twomey with that Aintree Grade 2 bumper win, justifying market prominence to follow up a Listed win at Cheltenham in November. She didn't quite manage the follow-up win at Punchestown, perhaps when committed for home sooner than optimal, but it was another really fine run and connections have already stated that the Order Of St George mare will be having a summer campaign on the Flat. Beechwood Another mare, Beechwood, signed off last season by winning the 1m4f Listed Oyster Stakes at Galway in October. It perhaps wasn't the strongest race of the grade, but there was no masking her superiority on the day. She has run well on a variety of going descriptions in her nine career starts thus far, but she only had three starts after joining this trainer from John O'Donoghue last summer. The Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh could be an ambitious starting point. If you already have a talkSPORT BET account, check out more of the best betting sites and casino bonuses
