Pauline Ryan picks up 7 day ban The Stewards interviewed Miss Pauline Ryan, rider of Abroad (GB) (placed second), concerning the use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed the video of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Miss Pauline Ryan had used the whip with excessive force and frequency and had used her whip improperly in failing to give her mount sufficient time to respond. They therefore suspended here for seven racedays and recommended that she attend RACE for one days tuition on the correct use of the whip.
