Pearl set for Cheveley Park Lightening Pearl is likely to be supplemented for the Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket on September 24th. The Ger Lyons-trained filly was a five-length winner of the Round Tower Stakes at the Curragh having previously gone close behind the brilliant Maybe in the Debutante Stakes. Lyons is keen to avoid taking on Aidan O'Brien's unbeaten youngster again this season and has high hopes his filly will develop into a Guineas contender next season. "We will probably supplement her for the Cheveley Park," said Lyons of the Pearl Bloodstock-owned two-year-old. "We would like to go to the Marcel Boussac but we'd prefer to swerve Maybe as much as possible. "She showed enough pace the other day to suggest the Cheveley Park is not out of the realms of possibility. "Next year she's going to be at her best over seven furlongs and a mile but she seems to have natural pace for the six. "The plan at the minute is to supplement her for that, probably. "Hopefully she's a Guineas filly, but we'll get this year out of the way first."
