The Polytrack in Dundalk has been a happy hunting ground for Stephen Thorne since he took out his training licence in the autumn and his recent winner Perfect Judgement aims to follow up on Friday.

The son of Inns Of Court finished well in first-time blinkers to land an apprentice rated race by half a length before Christmas and is scheduled to come back for more.

Thorne said: "There's a nice '85' mile for him next Friday - similar conditions and he is set for that.

"He won well and the handicapper gave him 4lb. He looks like a horse that could go in again.

"Jamie (Powell) gave him a lovely ride and hopefully he will be around next Friday, I think Jamie is missing the first two meetings back (in Dundalk)."

Perfect Judgement's trio of victories in the book came for three different trainers - Thorne, Jack Davison and Ado McGuinness.
