Kevin Philippart De Foy admitted to a sense of relief after his €3,000,000 newcomer Marylebone made a winning debut at Yarmouth.

The Night Of Thunder filly is out of the same mare as multiple Group One winner Diamond Necklace and Kia Joorabchian's Amo Racing pulled out all the stops to get her at Arqana last August.

Ridden by David Egan in the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes late money saw her sent off at 11-4 and she wore down long-time leader Avebury Ring to win by three-quarters of a length.

“We've taken our time with her like with a few of the other well-bred horses, but they are all coming good at the moment,” said Philippart De Foy.

“She was ready to run but I was a bit worried about the ground after the rain. She's done everything right and hit the line very well.

“She's a lovely filly to look forward to.

“These were not easy conditions to make her debut in and like all my horses, she hasn't been off the bridle at home.

“She'll have learned plenty and hopefully she can have a nice winter and she's one to look forward to next year.

“It's a relief because it's a great family so there was a bit of pressure on.”

Egan told Sky Sports Racing: “She had to dig in, I thought Rossa (Ryan) got it very easy in front as when the other horse ( Usaylah ) got withdrawn I thought those two would make the running.

“With it being a windy day I didn't think it would be right first time out to go out and make the running.

“I pulled her out nice and early to get her out into her top stride and to be honest I was well on top at the line.

“I've only ridden her twice at home to be honest and while the vibes have always been good, she'd never had the gun put to her head and this is as much as she's ever done.

“She's come to a nice maiden at Yarmouth, because of her price tag a couple of people have asked how she's been going and she'd been doing everything nice, but we'd never asked her a question so the fact she ticked the box today is really encouraging.”
