Pick 6 for Profit this Weekend Punters are in for a windfall this weekend as Tote Ireland goes out on a limb to Guarantee the Pick 6 pools on both days of Irish Champions Weekend for €100,000. The last time the Tote Guaranteed the Pick 6 pool for €100,000 was on Galway Plate Day when despite a Rollover from the previous day's racing of €11,807 the pool only reached €36,223. Fortunately for Tote they avoided a 'big hit' on that occasion as the pool wasn't won and rolled over again to Galway Hurdle Day. With only €25,000 invested in the Pick 6 by the 18,766 people that attended the Galway Plate it is difficult to see how the expected 19,000 over the two days this weekend (11,000 Leopardstown, 8,000 Curragh) will invest €100,000 on the bet each day. This weekend Tote are unlikely to see either Pick 6 pool Rollover as the structure of races virtually assures that the pools will be won. On Saturday at Leopardstown the first six races on the card include only one Handicap. The other five races are a maiden and four Group races including the Group 1 Coolmore Fastnet Rock Matron Stakes. Sunday's Pick 6 at the Curragh would look even easier to win as the six races involved are made up of three Group 1 races, a Group 2, a Group 3 and again only one Handicap. Noel Hayes, Commercial Director of Tote Ireland said: "we have been investing heavily in our Pick 6 product over the past 15 months and we have gone out on a limb this weekend by guaranteeing €100,000 each day as we felt it was the ideal showcase for the bet with lots of eyes on the racing, a large guarantee and a card which punters should perceive as being relatively easy and winnable we are hoping to broaden the appeal and engagement in the product." Since Tote introduced €25,000 daily guaranteed pools for the Pick 6 in July 2013 the average dividend has been a whopping €18,252.
