PIKE COMEBACK PLANNED

Last year`s Scottish National winner Paris Pike will return to light work in July after his injured tendon came through a scan on Wednesday.

'He has been scanned clear and it is a great relief,' trainer Ferdy Murphy said of the gelding who has been on the sidelines all seaosn.

'The tendon has healed and it just needs to strengthen up now. I hope he will be back in the New Year and then it will be two runs before the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

'Time is the great healer with these things.

'Now it is a case of the tendon strengthening up and then we will bring him back in July and give him about 18 weeks road work before we do anything serious - he will get up to as much as 18 miles day, and then be out in the field the rest of the day.'
