Plan A tops Elliott Gowran 5

Plan A brings top-quality cross-channel juvenile hurdling form to Gowran Park tomorrow when he contests the opening Thomastown Maiden Hurdle. He is one of an extraordinary five runners that Gordon Elliott will field for this two mile contest.

Paul Carberry will don the well-known silks of Galway owner Liam Mulryan on Plan A who finished third behind the top juveniles Sam Winner and Grandouet from the Paul Nicholls and Nicky Henderson stables respectively at Cheltenham in a Grade 2 back in November. He was under the care of Mick Quinlan then but has since joined Capranny Stables.

All the other Elliott runners came from the same sale. Bondage (15,000 guineas) came from Tattersalls Horses-in-Training Sale back in October and he will be ridden by Davy Condon, Green Energy (5,000 guineas) will be partnered by Joey Elliott, Priors Gold (5,000 guineas) will have Ross Geraghty aboard whilst Rocky Wednesday (70,000 guineas) will represent Gigginstown House Stud and he will be steered by Davy Russell.
