Plans coming together for high profile Burke horses Karl Burke has still to decide whether Exalted Angel will run again before All-Weather Finals Day on Good Friday. The sprinter booked his ticket for the big jamboree in a blanket finish to the Kachy Stakes at Lingfield on Saturday. “Although he’s out of a speedy mare, he hasn’t necessarily been precocious. He had a lot of niggly injuries early in his career, but we’ve given him time and the better he has got the older he’s got,” Burke told Sky Sports Racing. “He had a bit to find, but he’s been on an upward curve. He’d been missing the break and running creditably without winning. We thought the step up in trip would suit, but he’d never been down to Lingfield and you never know if they will handle it. “I actually got the tactics wrong as I thought there’d be plenty of pace on, but he winged out of the gates — we’d done a little bit of work on that — Cliff (Lee) did the right thing and it all worked out really well. “We’re looking towards Good Friday, but we’re just looking to see if he goes straight there or has a race first. I’d be keen to keep him at six furlongs now. He’s got French premiums as well, so Covid permitting, he’ll be in France at some stage as well.” Burke also had news of Royal Ascot winner Dandalla, who disappointed in the Cheveley Park when last seen. “We’re delighted with her, she’s wintered really well and is moving unbelievable. She’s moving like Laurens used to, she’s got a huge stride on her,” said Burke. “She always had that to a degree as a young two-year-old, but after Ascot, she was never quite moving as well. We think she’s back to her best. “She’ll probably head to Newbury (Fred Darling). We’re not sure Newmarket’s undulations suit, so we might steer clear of there in the short-term. “We’ll start off over seven, but she’s not slow, that will dictate where we go for the rest of the season.”
